As with most all universities, you'll get out of college what you put in to it. It's easy to be a part of many things at Muskingum. Not only will the Liberal Arts curriculum give you a variety of courses from different departments (great for undecided and uncertain majors), but there are also many clubs and organizations that anyone can be a part of. Professors are very knowledgeable and many attended top-tier graduate institutions.

Cons: Although there are definitely some nice aspects to this, New Concord is a very small town. It's quaint and there's not usually a lot going on, but it's got a nice coffee shop (Selah), and students often take late night trips to the Circle K for food and Polar Pops. The campus could definitely have some more wi-fi around, although fortunately they've been working on that. Also, the many hills and steps can really get to you (although maybe they'll help ease the "Freshman 15")!

Update:

If you have aspirations to continue on to graduate school (I did, and I currently am finishing my Master's), I think it takes more personal initiative if you go to Muskingum. The professors don't have research requirements like profs from bigger schools, and may not do much, or any, research. That's not to say they can't be of great help - just make sure you seek it out and talk to as many people as possible about your goals.

Muskingum is a true gem in private universities. The faculty and staff have so much pride and it is infectious. As a student I enjoyed an amazing four years where I was offered opportunities I would not have had at a larger school. The campus is gorgeous and the connection among alumni is strong.

Muskingum University is a great place to be and learn!

International programs are on the rise at Muskingum. I spent a semester in Germany (all taught in English) at FH Deggendorf studying in their International Management program. It's a fantastic opportunity, particularly for the many business majors at Muskingum. There are, however, programs all around the world.....
